How to Hide Private Photos from Strangers on iPhone

Almost all of us have photos on our phones that, for one reason or another, we don’t even want to show to our friends. This is the case when the classic gallery does not seem to us a safe place, but deleting the pictures is out of the question. Here, perhaps, the only savior that comes to the rescue is the “Hidden Album“.

Perhaps not all iPhone owners are aware of the existence of this feature, but it is actually very useful. Moving a photo to a special “secret” folder is done with just two clicks in a fraction of a second. How to go about this?

  • Mark the desired photo in the gallery,
  • Click on the three dots icon in the upper right corner of the screen and select the “Hide” option.

Everything – this image is securely hidden from prying eyes.

You will no longer find your favorite photo in the usual place because it is now stored in a different folder. At the bottom of the gallery, open the “Albums” column and select “Hidden Album” near the very bottom of the list. To make sure that the function will work correctly and that no one but you can get to the contents of this file, you need to pass identity verification before entering.

Identification must be done using Face ID. Once the scanning process is completed, you will have full access to the secret photo album. A little tip: if you can’t find your secret folder, go to general settings, select the Photos app, and check the box next to “Show hidden album”.

Here is a simple video guide of how to go about the process:
