If you are an AliExpress regular, you surely already know very well how to apply all the types of coupons that you can find in its marketplace. Coupons are one of the most used methods in AliExpress to offer discounts and offers to its users, so it is convenient to have them well controlled.
However, if you have never redeemed one of these coupons or discount codes, you may find yourself with some other barrier. For example, when you add an item to your cart and go to the cart, you will see that there is no option to apply the coupon, just the “Buy” option.
How to use AliExpress coupons
If what you have added to your basket is a smartphone for 300 dollars and have an important coupon, clicking on the buy button, like this “hot”, without first having applied the coupon can generate some uncertainty.
If you look closely, you will see that some items in the basket show a button that says “Get coupon”, but make no mistake, this option is only to get seller coupons (which usually have discounts of a few dollars), not to redeem the coupon that you have. Let’s go by bits.
3 types of coupons on AliExpress
Currently, AliExpress has 3 types of coupons.
- AliExpress Coupon: These are the coupons that AliExpress itself gives you, and they can be applied in practically all the stores of the marketplace. They are usually conditioned by a minimum spend and have a deadline to redeem them.
- Seller Coupon: Sellers also often issue special coupons for some products in their store. Normally they can be obtained on the seller’s store page in AliExpress, or when entering the basket, clicking on the “Get Coupon” button.
- Special Coupons: These coupons are only presented on special occasions, during promotions like Black Friday, 11.11, Christmas deals, and the like. These coupons can be applied to a large number of products from different stores that are associated with the active promotion. These types of codes are usually conditioned by a minimum purchase and normally expire when the promotion ends.
How to redeem your coupon
Now that we have a little more clarity about the types of coupons that exist, let’s see how you can apply them to get that discount.
- Sign in to AliExpress.
- Add the product you want to buy to your cart.
- Click on the basket icon, which you will see in the upper right corner of the screen.
- If you don’t have any coupons at your disposal, see if any item has a button that says “Get Coupon.” This will allow you to get a discount coupon from the seller. Of course, remember that you cannot use more than one coupon in your purchase.
- Once you have verified that the basket has the item correctly added and that there are no duplicate items or strange things, click on “ Order Summary -> Buy ”.
- In the “Order Summary” box, you will see a box where you can enter the promotional code.
- After applying, you will be able to see the discount on the final purchase price. If you prefer not to apply the coupon or apply another coupon that you have in your possession, simply click on “Delete”.
- If you are okay with the coupon discount, click on “ Place order ”.
- Finally, select the payment method to finalize the purchase.
