1. Apple Glass
Soon we will be donning glasses not only to see better or to protect our eyes from the sun. This accessory seems to have every chance of becoming an augmented reality device in the future. We know that Apple takes this idea very seriously and has been working on such a gadget for several years now.
So why do you need Apple smart glasses at all? In order, for example, to view incoming notifications (mail and system messages) without taking your iPhone out of your pocket. You can also manage your applications: choose any track from the playlist or get directions in Google Maps. Apple Glass will have access to the app store, so users will be able to download third-party software as well. It is expected that the new product will be released no later than 2025.
2. Mixed reality headset
In addition to glasses, Apple is also developing a mixed reality headset. With this gadget, you can immerse yourself in a virtual world in which elements from the real world will be present. There are two pieces of news on this topic: good and not so good. The first (good): the release of this device is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.
The second piece of news (not entirely pleasant): the headset will be very expensive. This is due to the fact that the device will receive two 8K displays, 15 cameras, eye-tracking technology and a processor that will outperform the M1 chip. If we got it right, a mixed reality headset is designed primarily for online gaming and communication.
3. Smart speaker with a screen
What happens if you mix iPad with HomePod? Something very similar to the Google Nest Hub, but from Apple. There is evidence that the Cupertino-based company is indeed working on a smart speaker with a built-in display and camera. This way, you can see the weather forecast at a glance without asking unnecessary questions. In addition, videos can be viewed on this device. For example, a video from YouTube.
According to popular insider Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, expect a smart speaker with a screen on the shelves anytime soon, since Apple “has more important things to do.”
4. Apple monitor
Apple is selling one model now, but it costs a lot of money – a whopping $5,000! Fortunately, the company intends to create a more affordable option for the average consumer. The monitor is said to be at an early stage of development, so it will most likely be out in 2023.
It is rumoured to be the successor to the Thunderbolt Display. This LCD monitor went on sale in 2011 for $ 999. However, five years later, Apple unexpectedly discontinued it.
5. Foldable iPhone
Numerous patents confirm that Apple is also planning to create its own version of the “flexible” smartphone. According to the latest data, the company is going to release a new product no earlier than 2023. Now we only know about it that the diagonal of the internal OLED screen will be within eight inches.
In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo, the “veteran” Apple developer, recently spoke about the display properties of the foldable iPhone. According to him, nanowires will be used in the production of OLED panels. As you know, this material has excellent characteristics – increased strength and elasticity. Please note: this feature is important in making a truly flexible display, not a foldable one!
