Who Viewed My Instagram Profile? Here is How You Can Know

If you are on Instagram, you like to expose yourself. Or, at least, share your photos and other stories. And you are undoubtedly attentive to the expressions of interest that other members of the social network have in you, the comments left on your publications, and, of course, your number of subscribers, an absolute indicator of your popularity. But, like many other Instagram members, you might like to know a little more, including seeing who has viewed your Instagram profile.

There are plenty of apps that promise to show you who is viewing your Instagram profile. But don’t be fooled: these apps are absolutely useless! Most often, they try to get your personal information back or charge you for a totally useless service. At best, they’ll give you a list of people you’ve recently interacted with, which you can see on Instagram for free!

How do you see who has viewed your Instagram profile?

In practice, it is impossible to know exactly who has viewed your Instagram profile. The social network keeps the secret about its various algorithms and does not allow any third-party application to give out its information. However, you can determine which people regularly visit your account with a few standard functions.

See the list of viewers of your stories

Instagram lets you know who viewed your Stories. This is actually the only way to know who has viewed your profile. The social network records the list of people who have viewed your story and allows you to consult it during its 24 hours of publication.

  • To access this list, go to your Instagram profile with the app.
  • Open your story and drag it up. The name of each viewer, subscribed or not, is indicated.

The more stories you post, the more likely you know who regularly sees your content and visits your profile. Note, however, that a user who follows you may very well have watched your story from the application’s home screen, therefore without having to visit your profile.

Review recent likes, comments, and followers

Your post activity can also give you clues about who may have viewed your profile.

  • Without the Instagram app, open the Activity page by tapping the heart icon at the top of the screen.
  • On this page, you will find out which people have recently subscribed and who are commenting or liking your posts.

These mentions and activities usually indicate that a user has viewed your profile. The more likes or comments a visitor leaves on your posts, the more likely they have viewed your profile.

Analyze statistics

If you have a professional account, you have a statistics section. You can access it from the Statistics button on your profile page.

In this section, you can obtain indicative data on visitors to your account. The exact names of the users do not appear, but information such as city, country, average age, and gender is available. This can provide you with substantial clues.

Remove an Instagram visitor tracking app

As we have said: all the applications promising to reveal to you who has seen your Instagram profile are only intended to extract money from you or to recover your personal data. Among these apps are InstaCare, Who viewed my profile, SocialView, InstaAgent, and Who Viewed Me On Instagram, and many more. Do not install them especially!

If you have already installed such an application, here is how to get rid of it and protect yourself.

  • In the third-party app, first, sign out if possible.
  • Then uninstall the third-party application.

You must then check if you have allowed the third-party application to connect to your Instagram account.

  • To do this, open the Instagram app.
  • Access your profile by tapping on your avatar in the lower right corner of the screen.
  • On your profile page, open the Instagram menu by tapping the three horizontal bars in the top right corner.
  • Tap Settings from the pop-up menu.
  • Then open the Security section.
  • On the Security page, open the Apps and websites sub-heading in the Data and history section.
  • On this page, you can check if the app is logged into your account and remove its permissions if applicable.

You will thus be protected against information theft by these applications. However, always keep an eye out when giving permissions to access your personal data.

If you want to protect yourself from unwanted visitors, you can always block them, restrict their access to your profile, or switch your Instagram account to private instead of public.
