How to Fix ‘Last Line No Longer Available’ Error on iPhone

Some users of recent iPhone models complain that they see a strange error message after updating to iOS 15, a message that reads: “Last line no longer available”.

The error appears in particular cases on iPhone 11, 12, and 13 and refers to the attempt to call using the eSIM (the digital SIM that can be activated with a cellular plan with your telephone operator without having to use a physical nano-SIM ), instead of the physical SIM.

How to solve the problem “Last line no longer available”

The solution to the problem is easy:

  • Just open the Phone app,
  • Select “Recents”, then “Edit” (top right)
  • From here “Delete Recent”.

The command, as you can imagine, deletes the list of all recent calls. If for some reason you need to keep this list somewhere, you can take a screenshot.fix last line no longer available

You can watch the video below for a detailed guide on how to remove the ‘Last line no longer available’ error on iPhone:

Removing the Physical SIM

If for some reason this command does not work, try to remove the physical SIM from the trolley (using a paperclip or a tool for removing the SIM card in the hole next to the trolley to extract it), wait a few minutes, and try to insert it again, obviously following the same orientation it had when the trolley was removed.remove physical SIM

If the procedure still does not work, turn off the iPhone and turn it on again after a few minutes:

  • Just go to Settings,
  • From here, in the General section, choose “Turn off”.
