The ultra-fluid image of the iPhone 13 Pro sucks energy. ProMotion can be deactivated with 120 Hz on the iPhone 13 Pro.
While androids have long since mastered it, Apple fans had to wait longer: an ultra-fluid moving image when scrolling, swiping, and playing thanks to a refresh rate of 120 Hertz. Apple calls the fluid feature “ProMotion” and only treats it to the latest Pro models in 2021, i.e, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
In the test, both models showed good to very good battery life – not least thanks to the efficient processor. However, if the technology is always active, this leads to higher energy consumption. Deactivating it can be worthwhile for everyone who wants to get even more battery life out of their iPhone. Here’s how to deactivate ProMotion and the 120 Hz on the iPhone 13 Pro.
Deactivate ProMotion on the iPhone 13
The function can be deactivated in just three steps. Still, it’s a bit hidden.
- Look for the “Accessibility” option in the settings tab.
- There you will find several help functions that simplify operations. You can also achieve a higher refresh rate here. To do this, select “Motion” from the menu.
- On the next page, you will see the ” Limit Frame Rate” at the very bottom. This lowers the refresh rate to 60 Hertz like in the iPhone 13 or older models.
Power saving mode deactivates ProMotion
Admittedly, not using ProMotion is certainly not easy for some users to get over. Thanks to the technology, the operating speed is simply even higher. In an emergency, the function can only be switched off temporarily, thanks to the power-saving mode. Because to save energy, it deactivates the high ProMotion refresh rate on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
To set the power setting mode on iPhone 13, you can follow the following steps:
- On your device, open settings and navigate to the ‘Battery’ option
- Select ‘Low Power Mode,’ which is the first option, and toggle the switch to green to enable it
You can also enable and disable this function on the notification pane.
