How to Install Windows 11 on a PC Without TPM 2.0 Chip

A few weeks ago, Microsoft presented the new version of the Windows operating system almost by surprise. One of the issues that has raised the most dust is the demanding requirements that must be met to install Windows 11 like the TPM 2.0 chip.

Luckily, Twitter user Albacore has already figured out how you can skip some of the more troublesome minimum requirements of installing Windows 11. We’ll break down all the details step by step below.

Minimum requirements to install Windows 11

Today, to perform a clean installation of Windows 11, your PC must meet the following specifications:

  • A 64-bit processor compatible with 2 or more cores of at least 1GHz.
  • At least 4GB of RAM.
  • 64GB of internal storage space.
  • DirectX 12 or later compatible graphics card and WDDM 2.0 driver.
  • Monitor of at least 9 inches, with resolution at 720p and 8-bit channel.
  • A board with UEFI firmware and compatible with Secure Boot.
  • A TPM 2.0 module, which since 2016 is mandatory for the hardware of any Windows computer.
  • Have a Microsoft account and Internet connection for initial configuration and system update.

Within this more or less reasonable list of requirements, the TPM 2.0 module is the one that has caused the most stir since not all PCs have this security chip welded onto the motherboard.

How to install Windows 11 on any PC by skipping the TPM 2.0, RAM, and Secure Boot requirements

Microsoft has already published the first Build of Windows 11, so if you want to test it on your PC, you just have to be registered in the Windows Insider test program. You can check if your computer is ready for Windows 11 by installing Microsoft’s PC Health Check tool (available from Microsoft’s website HERE ).

In case your equipment does not meet any of the requirements, you will be interested to know that with this new method, you can skip the minimum requirements of RAM, Secure Boot, and TPM 2.0. This requires making changes to the Windows registry editor, so it is a rather delicate process.

  • Press the key combination ” Win + R ” and type the command “regedit ” in the execution box that you will see on the screen.
  • Once inside the Registry Editor, navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ Setup folder.
  • Right-click on the “Setup” folder and select ” New ->Key.” bypass TPM 2.0
  • We will call this new key or folder ” New Key#1. “
  • Inside the New Key#1 folder, create a new 32-bit DWORD value called “ BypassTPMCheck.” Assign the value “1”.Install Windows 11 without TPM 2.0
  • We will repeat this process, also creating the DWORD values named “» BypassRAMCheck »and« BypassSecureBootCheck «, and also assign the value“ 1 ”to both.TPM 2.0 file

And ready! Close the registry editor and try to install Windows 11. You will see that now you will not have problems with the requirements of TPM 2.0, RAM, or UEFI boot with Secure Boot.

Note:

This procedure is intended for Windows 11 installations made from a USB flash drive, so do not try to launch the installation using other methods, as it may not be effective. We must also bear in mind that this does not invalidate the rest of the requirements. You still must have a 64-bit CPU with at least 2 cores and a minimum speed of 1.0GHz.

Warning

Whenever you modify the Windows registry editor, before making any changes, it is advisable to download a backup copy (within the registry editor in “File -> Export” select export “all”).

Bear in mind that you are reaching into essential system components, which can lead to a crash of the operating system. It is important to have a backup for possible emergency restoration.
