How to Encrypt Your Emails

Are you afraid that the email you send from your PC can be read by prying eyes? Would you like to find a way to encrypt your emails, but you don’t know how to do it? You are in the right article!

In the next few paragraphs, I will explain how to encrypt your emails to protect your messages and your privacy.

Don’t worry. These are straightforward procedures. All you have to do is use one of the online services that I will show you in the following chapters. So, to encrypt your emails, you don’t need any special knowledge. Just follow all the steps indicated in this short article.

Free services to encrypt your emails

As written above, you can encrypt your emails using a very simple online service. On the net, it is possible to find many sites that offer this type of service. However, I believe that many of these offer poor service and, in some cases, even unsafe. For this reason, I recommend that you use one of the two services that I am about to show you.

ProtonMail

ProtonMail allows you to create an encrypted email account in just a few clicks. The service is completely free. However, there is also a paid version that adds several features.

Emails sent through this service are encrypted and encrypted and decrypted automatically between users using ProtonMail. If, on the other hand, you send a message to a user who uses a “traditional” mail account, the message will be password protected. The recipient will then need to know the keyword to read the email.

Using this service is really very simple. First, you need to create an account to do this:

  • Access the site ;
  • Click on “Create account” ;
  • Select the “Free” plan ;
  • Click on the “Select free plan” button ;
  •  Enter the name of the address, the password, and a possible recovery email, then click on “create account.”

At this point, you are ready to use the service. Everything works like a simple “traditional” mailbox. The only difference is that before sending the message, you will have to choose a keyword to protect the email.

Lockbin

Unlike the service seen previously, Lockbin allows sending an encrypted email without the need to create an account. However, if you wish, you can easily create an account by clicking on the “Sign Up” button under the “Free” heading.

To send an encrypted email, the procedure to be performed is as follows:

  • Access the Lockbin site ;
  • Fill in this form by typing your email in the “Your Email ” field, the recipient’s email address in “Recipient Email,” the subject of the email in “Subject,” and the message you wish to send in “Your messages.”
  • Check the item “I accept the Terms and Conditions of Use,” then click on the “Send Secure Message” button.

At this point, a small window will open, in which you will have to type a password to protect the message and then click on “Register and Send.”

The recipient will receive the message, and before reading it, they will have to click on a button and type the password chosen by you previously.
