Before moving on to the practical part, however, it is important to make a necessary premise. If you made a typo while typing your name, you can quickly change 1 or 2 characters of the name through the PayPal settings. Change Your name on PayPal
To change the name on PayPal, the procedure is as follows:
- Connect to the official PayPal site;
- Log in to PayPal by typing your email and password;
- Click on the “Settings” icon, the one in the shape of gear at the top right;
- Select the “Account” item ;
- Click on the “Edit” item next to your name and surname;
- Click on the item “Correct an unimportant error” ;
- Make the desired changes, then put the check mark next to “I want to change my name” and click on the “Update name” button ;
The procedure is completed. If everything went well, the message “Your name has been updated” will be shown. At this point, all you have to do is click “OK” to return to the main screen.
Change your name and Surname on PayPal
If you want to change your name and surname on PayPal, the procedure is different from that seen previously. As mentioned at the beginning, in this case, you will have to verify your identity. Do this by sending a copy of your documents to PayPal customer service.
- Connect to the PayPal site and log in by typing your email and password;
- Click on the gear icon at the top right;
- Click on the “Edit” item next to your name and surname;
- Select the item “Change your name” (if during registration you have chosen an alias and now you want to change it with your real name, select the item “Update your name” );
- Click on “Browse” and upload the required documents (if you do not have a copy of the required documents on your PC, you can carry out the procedure from your smartphone and take a photo of the documents);
- Check the item “I want to change my name” ;
- Click on “Submit.”
At this point, PayPal will examine your request. If accepted, your name will be automatically changed to the one indicated in the documents.
