How to Find Deleted Safari History on Mac

Mac comes with a built-in backup feature called Time Machine. Using the Time Machine feature, you can automatically back up all types of files, including system files, music, apps, photos, and of course, Safari history.

However, if you’ve never used Time Machine and deleted your Safari history, there is another powerful data recovery option that you can use on behalf of data recovery software. With this data recovery software, you can easily recover all deleted Safari history, bookmarks, and other types of data on Mac. Then you can open the recovered files to check the deleted history, including time, date, URL, etc.

1.Data Recovery Software

1. Download the data recovery app to your Mac. At this point, install and run the program. Disk Drill is the recommended tool in this case.

2. On the displayed home page of the program, you need to select the data type and location of the lost data so that you can find your deleted data. Since you intend to recover deleted Safari history, you need to select the “Others” option and the specific hard drive that stores the installed Safari on your Mac.

3. In the lower right corner of the software’s main interface, you can select Home or Scan. Click Scan, and the program will automatically start Quick Scan. If Quick Scan cannot find the data you need, you can try Deep Scan. Depending on disk space, Deep Scan can take several hours and include recovery of more deleted files.

4. After the scanning process is complete. You need to find the deleted Safari history on your Mac device. In the search bar, just type / Library / Safari and then click the Filter function button.

5. From the list of filtered files displayed, find the file or files that have the .db suffix. It should be noted that if you are using earlier versions of Safari, then the files will have a .plist suffix.

6. Select the file / s using the .db or .plist suffix and click the Recover option displayed at the bottom right.

7. If you want to view Safari history on Mac, you can use SQLite Browser to open and view db File. You can see deleted history, date, time, and url information. To open .plist files, you can use the plist editor or text editor.Database Browser

Besides finding deleted Safari history, data recovery software can also help recover deleted PDF, Excel, emails, photos, and more from your Mac device.
